Frankel is still on course to put his reputation on the line against his elders in the Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood later this month.
Trainer Sir Henry Cecil reported the unbeaten 2000 Guineas and St James’s Palace Stakes winner to be in fine shape.
He confirmed the Group One on July 27, when his likely rivals could include Richard Hannon’s crack four-year-old Canford Cliffs, was the probable objective unless he himself suddenly had second thoughts.
“He’s in very good form at the moment, fingers crossed,” Cecil said.
Asked if the Sussex Stakes remained the colt’s next target, the trainer added: “That’s the idea at the moment, unless I get cold feet!
“I don’t think I’ll use a pacemaker because he’s settling very well at the moment.”
Canford Cliffs is also in tremendous form, according to his trainer Richard Hannon.
“The horse is going great. You wouldn’t know he was in the yard,” Hannon told At The Races.
“He’s a kids’ ride, he’s a lovely horse and he couldn’t care less. He’s a horse with a great cruising speed and a great turn of foot.”
